The Spiritual Teacher

Dear teacher,

You are the heartbeat of your children’s ministry program. You are in a position to validate the spirituality of the children in your class in ways they might not experience all the rest of their week.

They are intellectually supported in their studies by their parents and schoolteachers. They are physically supported in their sports and other athletic programs by coaches and parents. They are developing emotionally through friendships, play and facing the challenges of childhood.

On Sunday morning, you give children a different gift. When you respectfully interact with them by listening with your heart, you create a safe place for them to speak and ask questions. When you look into their eyes and see past outward appearances, you can see the essence of Spirit at their core.

This becomes the foundation from which to facilitate your lesson. Everything else is secondary to this recognition of the spiritual nature of the children as well as of yourself. Then the other components of your class time are easier and more fun.

Look around this website for some exciting and useful materials that will ignite a spark of energy into your classes. They have been tried out by me and other teachers and have been given the stamp of approval by children.
